Have a good time, everyone. Please tell me what parameters should be entered when calculating the antenna to calculate the antenna if . Is it mounted on a carbon fiber base? Does carbon have characteristics similar to metal for calculations in the program?

Thanks !!! now there is a question of upgrading the computer. An error came out that there is not enough RAM (8 GB installed). If anyone has experience, tell me what configuration - processor and video card to buy so that it works well. Not Nvidia Tesla :))). I tried it on a friend's laptop with windows . It turned out to run CUDA . Thank you.

maybe there is some kind of CUDA performance program?

that error is related to SOLVER choice and MESH size...(either reduce mesh size or try TLM solver Time domain)

Для изготовления этой антенны необходимы размеры

скажите пожалуйста, что это за тип антенны, где можно о ней почитать?

Please tell me what type of antenna this is, where can I read about it?

Admin, I saw somewhere you have beautiful models of offset dish antennas in CST Studio.

Is it a separate project and then you import for example a patch antenna into it to see the total gain dish+patch?

I am new to CST, but I learned how to build and simulate simple patches, would be nice to try to see how it works with the dish, I have 85cm dish with probably 0.61 f/D.

Maybe you have appropriate CST files for a dish that you are willing to share, I would appreciate it.

A miracle of Chinese industry. I built a home computer for HFSS. Dual-core motherboard. Two Xeon E5-2680v4 processors, 32 gigabytes of RAM. The GTX 1070 graphics card. I prescribed the points as in the instructions so that the program determines other video cards for calculation using CUDA. Everything works super well. It counts much faster than I had before with 4 threads

I am using an Nvidia GTX1070 home video card. Officially, such video cards are not supported in the CST program. I did not conduct an experiment with Radeon video cards and it seems that they do not all support solvers.

1. The NVIDIA GPUs that fulfill the following requirements may be enabled for simulations: • capable of running CUDA 9.2 code • at least 4 GB of free memory To enable such GPUs, set the environment variable CST_HWACC_ALLOW_UNVERIFIED_HARDWARE = 1. Then all eligible installed and visible NVIDIA GPUs will be considered for computation.

2. Verifying Correct Installation of GPU Hardware and Drivers As a final test to verify that the GPU hardware has been correctly installed, the following test can be executed: Log in to the machine and execute the HWAccDiagnostics_AMD64 program found in the AMD64 subfolder of your CST installation (Windows) or in the folder LinuxAMD64 on a Linux system. The macro "Check GPU Computing Setup" in the Solver macros performs exactly this check. The output of the tool should look similar to the following picture if the installation was successful.   --    (image CUDA2.JPG)

3. GPU Computing needs to be enabled via the acceleration dialog box before running a simulation. To turn on GPU Computing: 1. Open the dialog of the solver. 2. Click on the "Acceleration" button. 3. Switch on "Hardware acceleration" and specify how many GPU devices should be used for this simulation. The specification of the number of devices is per solver (e.g. if DC is used)   --   (Image CST CUDA.jpg)

 - Step 3 should be done in each project separately. it must be done for each project separately

 - If you did everything correctly, then when you start the simulation, a message will appear in the "messages" section that the video card has been identified and the on-demand standby status (LAZY). During the calculation, you can see the processor load of the video card through the task manager. -- (Image CUDA3.JPG)

- Details on using video adapters in the CST program are in the "GPU_Computing_Guid" file in the attachment. I am using version 2024 SP5

P.S. Don't forget to click "Apply" !!!

Simulation - Setup Solver - Acceleration  - check Hardware acceleration - OK - Apply !!!!! - close or start

Good afternoon. Please tell me about optimization. What is the correct algorithm? set all the parameters at once (impedance, SWR, etc.) Or can you first optimize the antenna by SWR and then by antenna impedance? Are there any manuals?

Good time. I'm ashamed to admit that I have a low level of knowledge in 3D modeling. Please help me how to make a model of a "helical dipole" antenna at a frequency of 433MHz.
