In my opinion, isolation process is about the real case and the antenna theory or scientific side of it. And that program you use may don't include that but gives a dBi value according to your design but not examine your logic or logical errors.. I'm a civil engineer and we have this kind of programs, you must know the theoric correct info and only design and its effects on Computer aided programs... But of course, I don't know the program and this is just a reasoning...

Then what is the ideal material for outdoor antenna? If copper get wet then does it works still?
  3. yagi

Main conflict that we couldn't solve/or I couldn't understand is that: Does copper shield must be touched to the biggest plate or not?
  4. yagi

Thanks all of you, Admin helped me very much but didn't say isolate somewhere etc. but it's okay bcs probably his main point was more important for him (connection tube around cable)... Also already we insulated the driven plate and checked it with multimeter and was okay. Then outer braid of cable was soldered to biggest plate; then edge of center conductor of cable was soldered to second isolated plate. I mean is that tube which passes through the biggest plate crucial? If so, I couldn't realize the logic behind this mechanism bcs in my opinion it touches and more of it is cosmetic and appearance... I'm reading and learning everything I saw but couldn't understand the importance of that piece. Bcs our antenna doesn't work and it can't be just that small piece like a tunnel for cable. Thanks lot again.

    Okay thx

Do you want us to touching of black outer to first plate at outer of it and braid is going to touch inside of first plate??? This void does not make a difference bcs still it's touching and connecting to plate... While we provide this connection, this void must be unimportant...???
  7. yagi

Outer wire have connection with the first plate. We checked it with multimeter and it is ok. We havent got your main idea, if you want the connect first palet and braid, we already made it.. Or do you want to passing through of braid towards to 2nd plate? Now, I will insert these thin wores to copper sleeve and weld sleeve to biggest plate but purpose is same with what we did with tape in my opinion.....
  8. yagi

In this way.. We taped braid to outer surface of 90mm circle and welded coax to 2nd circle plate..
  9. yagi

It fits easily, i dont think there is problem on this connection except if welding the silver part to sma conneftion is a problem..
  10. yagi

Well, However some Youtube videos say we must isolate the reflector, 90mm plate, (also some says we must isolate driven element, 68mm plate) from the boom or this antenna doesn't give enough gain or cannot be a real antenna or even can cause damage the ethernet card etc. Is there any isolation process on this antennas? However my antenna didn't work, even did everything as you said and draw but didn't work unfortunately. I'm using two original antennas of adapter again.. Thanks.

You're a real hero bro, thanks, Then, is it good to make distances b/w smallest directors as shown below figure? Also we have only 0.3mm copper plate to make directors, does it differ much not being of thicknesses as shown in figure? Also for example, are 9mm and 7mm distances between biggest directors very important or critical? I know your design was probably made aimed to give the best wrt other designs but I want to know too importances of those distances written on projects bcs I'm a newbie want to learn the logic behind antennas and signals. Thanks lot bro!

Very very thanks, Also we used a 8mm threaded rod instead of 4mm as shown on your design figure, does it change the dbi or result very much? And distance between small round plates too are not same as figure bcs of rod length, we couldnt calculate it properly and cut it a bit short - 15cm -. Does it affect too much, if so we will make whole structure again.. Thanks again.

hello admin, we built one of these short version antennas by following instructions properly of Russian guy Kreosan channel on YouTube but we couldn't increase wifi signal strength, even worse, when we plug our antenna into one entrance of our adapter (Tp-link and have 2 rp-sma antennas normally) and the other 5dbi tp-link antenna remains on adapter. Also we tried by only attaching Russian antenna on adapter (other entrance is empty) but couldn't gain anything with respect to original antennas of Tp-link. Original antennas were obtaining more signal at same place and angle. We also tried many positions and angles but again it sometimes increased but not steady or high mbps as much as original antennas. I'm putting its photos, consider that we removed its sma connection for now, I'm mean there is no technical deficiency but it doesn't work as I said. What are your advices, please?
