  1. Spillage , Efficiency , Blockage and Lobe Shape are the main factors
  2. Copy ANY photo link and paste https://imgur.com/a/orXbKFI OR upload to imgur copy link paste link on YOUR site
  3. Picture uploading is not working -200 error https://imgur.com/a/ekHmGFR
  4. it will interesting to test losses on N type to sma (Most VNA use N type outside and SMA inside)
  5. yagi

only if the phone has a wifi connector (micro SMA IPEX ) BUT having the 722 in the antenna is the FIX and a LAN cable to usb (SOME GUYS got 12 meters ) from the usb on the 722...THAT's HOW I would do it (have done)
  6. What's the plan...mimo Circular polarization...V and H pol...?
  7. Kerry D. Wong disassembling and test (VNA) Teflon PTFE allows for a very small footprint ,(smallest UWB antenna I know) Not as good as my own LPDA ...but it could be tried on double sided PCB...(still working on it , Needs tweaking) ALL this UWB have great gain beyond 3 ghz...not so much under it and almost NO GAIN close to 500 Mhz...(too small , too SHORT)
  8. didn't like the results for one Bow tie...the other design with closed box must be better (harder to draw and build) Here's the PAPER with dimensions 09100804.pdf
  9. I guess the proximity fed probe (L Probe) helps to widen the bandwidth (since there's more modes and room for the energy to couple than STRAIGHT CONTACT , which would have only ONE mode)
  10. to get closer to 15dbi takes at LEAST 10 directors...(even more) it should give 12db or less
  11. Still testing , Imepdance needs some work still...But looks good so far) Copper tape under 40 cm long and wide...PES foam or PU foam dielectric
  12. try a cylindrical or conical reflector ...( might get a couple of more dbs...)
  13. Never personally liked the dipole array on PCB...too much space and little gain... But this is interesting due to the BANDWIDTH...(which is only 70-80 mhz needed for 2.4) maybe an LTE adaptation could work...ALL METAL...
  14. CST

All you need for a PLANAR (2d Microstrip PCB) antenna is a 2D drawing , PCB are standard thickness (single or double sided copper layer) the dielectric is the key FR4 Teflon Rogers...YOU NEED THAT VALUE to simulate it right...drilling is done after burning the NOT NEEDED copper zones...a small project could easily be done on COPPER TAPE and any dielectric support (CARDBOARD-STYROFOAM...etc)and would work BETTER than the same on PCB.LOOKS DON't MATTER Energy doesn't care.Only sees METAL=GOOD , Air = good , Dielectrics=BAD....
  15. CST

I added an SMA and BACKPLANE...is NOT GOOD...it is ok as practice but no use on the real world , Efficiency is BAD...gain is little...
  16. CST

    Thank YOU , Jomy.
  17. yagi

un cable de RED te sirve no mas de 4-5 metros
  18. CST

DXF or DWG should be enough...to export to pcb i have an older (2020) cst version if you post the STL file i could run it...(what solver did you use...?)
  19. yagi

722 v2 CHICO! a 200 metros con cualquier cosa de mas de 15dbi debería conectar y mantener señal Puedes soldar directo a la usb (cable lo mas corto posible)y desde allí cable usb hasta 4-5 metros From 200 meters anything above 15dbi should do it , Can you solder the USB card closer to the antenna and then a longer USB cable (no loss) 75ohm catv cable no no
  20. 11 degrees is Elevation (UP and Down) not Width (Azimuth) on this...and you aren't specifying the Polarization (is it Vertical...?)
  21. Higher the Dielectric constant...the smaller the antenna ...and BIGGER the LOSSES...(unless is Teflon sheet) or Foam...
  22. The one you posted should be closer to 15 degrees Elevation lobe , AZIMUTH...closer to 120...you should check the 2d Plot
