Biquad Antenna

hi admin, this is my first posting on your fine forum.

Could the sma connector be soldered into the tube and fed with rg402 semi rigid coax ,instead of crimping and the 1.8 cu wire.

I've built this one in the past (Marty Bugs) website I believe. 

The only thing I don't like about this design is the heavy LMR400 coax feed.

I prefer to use rg402 type coax.

I have my biquad antennas mounted on a mast outdoors - I soldered a 100mm length of 15mm Di, cu tube to the rear of the reflector, as a mounting point to a mast, will this approach upset the antenna gain?

Ok, it does not matter the type of coaxial cable, but the inside diameter of the pipe must can be pressed on the coaxial cable

Thanks,  I've built hf and vhf antennas but im finding ghz frequencies a whole new ball game and a steeper learning curve.

With this biquad form, you can get a bandwidth increase...

Dimensions are given on the axis of symmetry of the Cu Wire

hello.. 

i've built omnidirectional quad antenna in cst. according from a journal, if we add a reflector about 1/4 Lamda from the center of the structure we got higher gain..

but in my simulation, i got smaller gain. i dont understand, i think i wrong on coaxial probe. please help me hehehe.. thank you very much

Hi buddy,

I like your achievement, but you must to know that the gain of a cp cross biquad is negative, that is it is less than a single dipole because of the power split to feed two antenna elements from the same source,by cross-polarization, you lose about 6 dBi.

Okay , I tried this solution without the results being spoken on the internet

,,,try this option too...

Buddy, these antenna parameters are calculated for 2442 MHz frequency, for 5200 MHz they do not fit.

Hi admin,i resize the dimension and got vswr 1.003 on 5.2Ghz in CST.i like this biquad design so much. thanks.

I would err on the side of caution, measure from the bottom most part of the upper antenna to the upper most part of the lower antenna.

The reflector and metallic structure of one antenna can have a detuning effect on not only the active elements but the tuned reflector and director elements of the neighboring antenna.
