Hey, I have stupid question about the wire antennas and specially for the invamos5 measurements. 

After the bending you get the right measurement at the inside, outside or in the center of the wire diameter? Fx 'E'

MOST of the times it is at the CENTER of the wire (for all cases)

it's a terrific antenna...i used 1.5mm...balun is of the utmost importance.

 feeding line (parallel horizontal lines) distance TOO

Hentenna 2,1 GHz

The original Hentenna as a special kind of a single loop was described first in the 1970ies by Japanese Hams, an English article by JF6DEA/KE1EO about the Antenna ("The Hentenna – The Japanese 'Miracle' Wire")  was in the QST 1982 and in the ARRL-Antenna- Compendium, Vol. 5. The basic function of the  Hentenna structure is the 1,50-λ-Extended-Quad. This antenna with the figure of an "Oblong" has a gain of 3,6 dBd, but a feedpoint impedance of 73 + j 470 Ω.

The Hentenna has nearly the same gain, but a clever feeding with an impedance at XX of 50-70  +/- j 0 Ω .

Hello there, I am building the InvAmos5 with the new dimensions from the papers.

Dimensions of antenna array
Due to inserting a two-wire phasing line it is necessary to change some of the original
dimensions of single Inverted Amos-5 antenna and introduce the new ones.
Here are given all dimensions of antenna both in millimeters and in wavelengths:
mm wavelengths
A 33 0.27
B 61 0.50
C 61 0.50
D 21.5 0.176
E 21 0.172
F 10.8 0.0885
G 32.5 0.264 (from refl. surface to dipole wire axis)
X 102.5 0.840
dw 2 0.0164 (dipole elements copper wire diameter)
Overall copper wire length: 8 x 282 mm or 8 x 2.3 wavelengths
Reflector solid metal sheet surface: 492 x 369 mm or 4 x 3 wavelengths

 

so if F=10.8mm what about the feeding point ? do I need to shorten the distance there and if I do what will be ?

and also I haven't done any balun's til now so what will be the length if I use RG58  50ohm.

I searched through pages of disscussion on many antenna shapes, but cannot find a simple wired omni antena. Is it possible to emulate 15db (1,2m) commercial omni antenna with a single wire ?

Insulators , supports should be on the middle of ANY half wave dipole (ti minimize losses and mismatches)

Without a reflector (Omnidirectional) you'll need 1 meter and some to get close to 15dbi (15-20 half waves) 

 

With reflector you could have 15dbi at under One meter...

IT only WORKS witha 4:1 BALUN (200 ohms at feed point BALANCED)

it is a GREAT antenna (i build it and i am USING it right now) over 18 dbi
