Thanks for this. I'm looking forward to those dimensions, and t'm also interested he effect of adding some extra directors.

...and then...: it becomes a ...YAGI !  (a DISCs yagi)

Isn't it a 3 element  yagi already?

,,, no, this is after the original version ... !!!

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand how adding extra directors changes it into a yagi.

You're RIGHT , my bad...Theoretically YAGIs only need 1 DIRECTOR or 1 REFLECTOR to be IT!...

(PS:Just Semantics i guess)

"Increase RANGE" means (in my book) creating a NEW DESIGN by modifying an existing one...(new SIMULATIONS altogether)

PS:Of course that better ,bigger, reflector (cylindrical , parabolic , cornered) would get more GAIN (but all other parameters VSWR ,Impedance value and curve , losses , BW , Diagram, etc) would change ...suffer...) adding more directors too...

i was doing this project Wifi gun

Measurements as per the pic .. Antena -2.png

My Project : Antena-4.png

Connections : Antena-3.png

My Finished Antenna.. : Wifi Gun WP_20200807_23_27_09_Rich.jpg

With this i am get wifi range of 100mtr but i am looking for 500mtr can you plz guide ..

i asked many people in the forum but they dont give correct answer

looking for your reply

500 meters ...without obstructions (walls what kind...?) should be easily implemented...BUT you hardware (radio) is important too...Sensibility and power output...(EFFICIENCY is KEY if you are limited on those...and keeping losses at minimum...) 12 dbi Gain , at least should be achieved with that gun...

500 meter is free from obstruction that is open to air i can see the access point antenna without any tree or wall

how can i achieve that range if i increase more number of directors can I achieve it

in my modem there is two antennas that i can connect sould i have to build another wifi gun of same or sould i have to connect the 2nd antenna wire to same wifi gun at 90digree opposite of the right now connection

shall i make two connections to same wifi gun and increase the more no of directors

or build new wifi gun for the 2nd connection with the same no of directors in the 1st wifi gun

kindly suggest your best configuration measurements to achieve that 500mtr target

Isn't the ~10dBi antenna gain enough for the 500m ?

What is the problem?

Modem is...? (brand model) (Some RF chips and firmware require BOTH antennas)

others do DIVERSITY (old ones)

Others have 2 band (2.4-5.8ghz) antennas

others are MIMO (2 spatial streams) higher speed

What's YOUR  GOAL...? 500 meters LOS , should be achieved with 10 dbi directional or even less...(unless your hardware is shitty)

my modem is single band 2.4ghz but I need someone who can tell me which antenna can give me 500mtr range if so plz suggest with measurements or dfx file for CNC cutting to achieve the perfect range and speed

let me know

If you are in a place with low RF exposure and there is los this is a good choice.

If its easier for you can change the reflector to a disk with a bit bigger radius.

Note that in the 802.11 standard the speed is actually affected by the weakest signal of a active client on the AP.

If you are in a place with higher RF exposure  an antena with more gain (additional directors) and an attenuator (long cable) to increase the noise floor for avoiding the CSMA interrupts in 802.11 is sugested
