YEP , those are Dipole Magneto Electric (MED) ,

the quarter wave at 90 degrees with reflector (supports) are Magnetic fields (0 volts half wave centers could be in touch with reflector) is were you usually put metal supports or screws bolts. etc (yagi)

and the "leaves" are electric field (HALF wave ... being feed in the middle a DIPOLE)

Moderate gain , 2 ports (mimo) 2 polarizations  WIDE BAND

As I understand it...

Electric and Magnetic fields are ALWAYS at 90 degrees per Maxwells equations ...(and nature)

What make it electric or magnetic is the field orientation Vertical or Horizontal and their LENGTH

How to crimp this junction?

I've not found tutorial of making this joint.

Any FLAT plate  are would do...the bigger the BETTER.

if you want more GAIN , new shape and area should be SIMULATED to see it doesn't harm the original specs...VSWR , Impedance , diagram (lobes) bandwidth ,etc

Flat area plates are the safest to use
